In ancient Irish tradition, the yew tree was one of the five sacred trees of Ireland, believed to have been brought from the Otherworld when the island was divided into its five provinces. Because of its long life, the Irish yew symbolised longevity, wisdom, rebirth, and protection.
Each men’s Irish yew wooden watch has its own distinctive grain, warm tones, and natural character, making every piece completely unique.
The yew used in this watch comes from the famous Coole Park near Gort, County Galway. Coole Park was once home to Lady Gregory, co-founder of the Abbey Theatre, and was a favourite retreat of W. B. Yeats. It was here that Yeats found inspiration for his celebrated poem The Wild Swans at Coole.
